Gorgeous custom printed cups for each of the 17 coffees brewed at the World of Coffee Brew Bar
What do Vienna, Rwanda & yours truly, Market Lane, have in common? The 2012 World Coffee Event!
At this very moment, coffee professionals from far and wide are congregating in a convention centre in Vienna, Austria to attend the annual coffee gathering. They will be tinkering with the newest coffee gadgets, chatting with rarely seen industry friends, getting excited about the unfolding World Barista Competition, and even sipping on some coffees!
Although no one from Market Lane will be attending the event in person this year, we will be there in roasted form! We are very excited to be participating in this year's WOC (World of Coffee) Brew Bar, where coffees from 17 roasters from around the world will be featured, side-by-side.
The WOC Brew Bar offers international attendees the opportunity to taste a number of coffees produced in a number of countries, roasted in many different parts of the world, and made using four different brewing methods. After all, a great coffee event should offer up some delicious and memorable coffees!
After some deliberation, we decided to send one of our most beloved and complex coffees of the year: the Kayumbu from Rwanda. This coffee took seventh place in the 2011 Rwanda Cup of Excellence, and we were lucky enough to score a little of the small lot that was produced. The Kayumbu is a stunning coffee, with delicate florals and spices. We're so happy to be playing a small part in sharing some of the coffee goodness coming out of Rwanda at the moment.
Thanks to Marco for hosting the brew bar, and a special thanks to David Walsh for the photo above.
