What we do

Market Lane is a specialty coffee roastery, cafe, and retailer, born and based in Melbourne.

At Market Lane, we are not great multi-taskers. We focus on only one thing: delicious high-quality coffee.

Admittedly, we are a little obsessed. We spend our time sourcing beans from some of the best coffee growers in the world, looking for superior coffees that are distinctive and memorable and can stand up on their own without blending. We roast them carefully to bring out the most exquisite characteristics in the cup. We then lovingly brew coffee for our customers, and help you find the right tools to brew to perfection at home. We only serve coffee that is in season, and we love to share the stories of where our beans come from, and how their journeys have influenced their taste.

We are probably okay at a few other things but, really, we just live and breathe quality coffee. We like to drink it, too.

Philosophy

Here are our 4 pillars:

• Quality Without Compromise – We seek to only buy, roast, and deliver exceptional, delicious coffees. We will never compromise on this.
• Traceability and Transparency – We aim for 100% traceability. Which means we want to know exactly where our beans come from and who grows them. We're passionate about sharing these origin stories with our customers, and celebrating the provenance of our coffees, and the people whose hard work makes them exceptional.
• Innovation – We will always ask questions (sometimes the stupid ones!) so we can keep learning, refining, improving, and finding better ways to do our thing.
• Sharing the love – We want to share, inspire, and get people as excited about quality coffee as we are. We want to do this in a simple and enjoyable way. Because that's what coffee should be: simple to understand and appreciate, easy to brew and enjoy.
